The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), officially known as “Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" and promulgated by the United Nations on September 25, 2015, is a set of seventeen aspirational "global goals" with 169 targets between them. nDevelopment finance institutions (DFIs) whose broad mandate is to promote sustainable development are in a position to contribute to the fulfillment of the SDGs. What opportunities are there for DFIs in this regard and what challenges they will likely face will be the gist of the discussions for this conference.
